Smokesoft...

Smokesoft was put out of business by the government. While in operation they participated in fraudulent network marketing behavior.  The only thing Smokesoft ever accomplished is scamming hundreds of gullible people out of thousands of dollars.  When trying to research this company every site that refers to Smokesoft or Smokesoft’s products has been taken down.  That leaves me with very little information on their company or the legal reason it was forced to shut down.  Nonetheless, usually if you have seen one scammer you have seen them all so you must be careful.

Smokesoft is not the first or the last company to participate in fraudulent activity in the multi-level marketing industry. Since the beginning of MLM, thousands of companies have misrepresented themselves as legitimate business opportunities. As a matter of fact, some are working right now and getting away with it.

When you sign up with ANY company to sale or recruit for you must do your own investigation first.  It has not been confirmed but I am sure that there were obvious signs that Smokesoft was not being on the up and up with its customers and distributors.  The number one thing to know and live by is always follow your gut feelings, even when you think that the dream the company is offering is better. Chasing dreams is probably the biggest mistake most people will make while looking for a MLM company to team up with.

When you read their sales pitch pay close attention to the “extras” that are only offered as fluff. You want to know solid facts on what the company WILL (not can) do for your checkbook and that is it.  Also be sure to read the terms of service and any other legal documents that will be hidden in the site somewhere.  Make sure that all the information on the site matches up with what is BINDING in the terms of service and business guide.  Any information that is published on the site is legally worthless if it is not published in the business guide or terms as well.  My guess is those that were stung by Smokesoft are wishing they would have read the fine print.

All of Smokesoft’s victims were hard working, loyal people, but they made themselves vulnerable to a crime that is practiced everywhere.
