Daniel S. Peña, Sr. has
established himself thoroughly in the realm of business and
marketing over the course of his long career. Most recently,
he was the founder and Chairman of The Guthrie Group
is a successful business coach. Based in the United Kingdom,
the group is a consortium that helps to facilitate European
financial transactions on the buy and, or sell side.
He was also the founder, former
Chairman, President, and CEO of Great Western Resources,
Inc., a Houston, Texas-based natural resources company.
When Peña retired in 1992, GWRI was making phenomenal
profits and had a wide-multi-national range of operations
including the United States, the Gulf of Mexico, the United
Kingdom as well as South America. Prior to GWRI, Peña was
Chairman, President and Chief Executive of J.P.K.
Industries, Inc., an expansive petroleum company. He
also worked at Bear Stearns & Co., an investment
banking firm, where he advised both US and international
clients. Peña has also been president of his own consulting
firm, Op-U-Comp. He has served as Chairman of
numerous companies in various industries across the country
and in Europe as well.
He has been a lecturer for the
Continuing Education for CPA's program in the US, has
traveled extensively and lectured on strategic planning,
finance and economics. He also donated his time to some pro
bono activities such as teaching a year-long course to
Minority Business students on entrepreneurship at his alma
mater, California State University. The son of a veteran
LAPD officer, Peña also volunteered his time to Rebuild LA
subsequent to the devastating riots near his childhood home
in Los Angeles and served at the request of the Mayor on the
Executive Committee for The Alliance for a Safer LA.
Peña has also made incredible strides
as a success coach, and stands above his competition in the
field of business coaching. He is an extremely dynamic and
powerful speaker, motivator, and skillful entrepreneur.
Peña’s seminars and lectures have been sponsored by various
universities, organizations and corporations such as
Nijenrode University (Netherlands), The National Association
of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and DELL. Peña has also
received numerous awards for his business and marketing
prowess.
Now, Peña lives full time at his fifteenth century estate,
Guthrie Castle, Scotland, where he plays golf on his own
private 18-hole golf course, rated one of the most difficult
in Europe.
