Dan Wheeler...

As the head of Dimensional Fund Advisor Inc.'s global financial advisor services, Dan Wheeler has been instrumental in bringing modern portfolio theory to the community of fee-only financial advisors. Throughout his career, Dan has helped build the advisor community and change investment advice in retail markets, transforming what was a broker-driven system into one of financial education and coaching.

He has written numerous articles for various financial advisory magazines and business publications, dealing with various issues of fund advising, the state of the global financial markets, and countless other financial topics.

Wheeler is passionate about his field and has expressed it in vivid and clear communications that have given him quite the reputation as an inspirational speaker. In this way, Wheeler maintains a strong connection to the grass roots of the financial advisor business and keeps a hold on the real pulse of the various trends and innovations that constantly sweep through the markets across the globe. He still continues to work as a financial advisor for a select group of long-time clients.

Prior to his arrival at Dimensional, Dan worked at Arthur Anderson & Co., was the controller of Triad International Marketing S.A., a London-based international consulting firm, and owned a fee-only investment advisory firm. He also worked at Merrill Lynch. A former officer in the US Marine Corps who still maintains a very active lifestyle, Wheeler was educated at William Jewell College, the University of South Florida and the University of California, Berkeley.
