Don Lowe was raised on a farm in rural
Kentucky, where hard work, integrity, and family values were
prized. He took the values he learned on the farm and used
them to shape a company in the quick printing franchise
industry, the world’s largest company, Sir Speedy. Don Lowe
learned marketing and leadership at Kampgrounds of America
(KOA), where he began his career. He learned that fairness
and respect builds strong business ties. When KOA bought
Sir Speedy in 1978, they chose Don Lowe to head the company
and rebuild it.
Don Lowe immediately changed the
relationship between the franchisor and the franchisees.
Don created a relationship that benefited both
participants. He began internet marketing and national
television advertising. Don Lowe fostered a focused and
determined sales and marketing campaign. Sir Speedy
implemented the newest in technology: color printing,
faxing, desktop publishing, and online ordering. Sir Speedy
grew rapidly.
Soon a holding company, Franchise Services, Inc. (FSI), was
formed and bought MultiCopy, the largest printing company in
Europe. Next, they bought PIP Printing. Today Don Lowe has
taken the company into 23 countries, built 1,000 locations,
and maintained the highest profits of any printing company.
Don Lowe’s leadership skills, achievements, and excellent
moral values have made him an industry leader of the highest
caliber.
