In 1994, Eric Ward founded internet’s
first service for announcing and linking web sites. Today he
still offers those services and has amassed an impressive
clientele including many big names in online brands. Ward’s
greatest success was his role in introducing the original
linking campaigns for Amazon.com Books, The Link Exchange,
Microsoft.com, Warner Bros, The Discovery Channel, the AMA,
as well as The Weather Channel. Ward received recognition in
the form of the 1995 Tenagra Award For Internet Marketing
Excellence. He was also selected as one of the Web's 100
most influential people by Websight magazine in 1997.
In the online world, probably one of
the most crucial elements is obtaining links, which build up
the network and can increase a sites standing with search
engines as well as popularity. Ward seems to think that is
the wrong motive. Since he started
building links (well before Google existed) he maintained a
very different perspective, one that is both long term and
much more effective. He prefers to use linking strategies
and building links as a means to educate others about
generating publicity for web content that will last much
longer.
Ward is also
involved with various agencies, PR firms, site developers
and individuals in the art of link building and online
publicity. He has spoken widely to various audiences and
written dozens of articles on the subject of linking and
online publicity.
Eric Ward also offers his services through exclusive plans
in which he will actually talk to customers on the phone in
order to evaluate what their needs are and develop a
strategy that will achieve the greatest results by using
linking methods. He calls this My $1000 Intensive Linking
Strategy Session.
