To start his career on the right path, Jakob
Nielsen attended the Technical University of Denmark to get
his PhD in computer science. Using all that he learned in
school and gaining even more knowledge with every task he
now has made a name for himself in the internet marketing
industry. His main focus throughout his entire time serving
marketers has been to provide them with the tools and
knowledge for developing user interface website features to
maximize business potential.
Many large and small companies have benefited from
his impressive advice on updating and maintaining their
website to activate remarkable results. These companies
include Bell Communications Research, the Technical
University of Denmark, and the IBM User Interface Institute
at the T.J. Watson Research Center. His most notable achievement
was the usability lead design of SunWeb which he has since
kept up with.
Jakob Nielsen is also the co-owner and founder of
the Nielsen Norman Group which is run with a long time
business partner and close friend Donald Norman. Under this
companies profile Nielsen has created over 79 tools to
simplify the use of internet marketing techniques for which
he also holds patents for.
Possessing a phenomenal talent in writing and
editing Jakob Nielsen has also been an editor for several
journal publications in leading magazines. ACM interactions
magazine, Behavior & Information Technology, Foundations and
Trends in Human-Computer Interaction, Interacting with
Computers, Journal of Usability Studies, International
Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, The New Review of
Hypermedia and Multimedia are all on his list of current
credits.
Fully dedicated to his writing, Jakob Nielsen has released
many books to help internet marketers get the most out of
